Meet Our Founder

Hi, I’m Gregg Schwartz, founder of Overstock Trader. I started this business because sellers deserve better than email blasts, public listings and marketplaces that create channel conflicts and put their brand at risk.

Transparency starts with you. Before anything moves, you tell us where your inventory can and can’t go, which retailers, which regions, which channels are off limits. That stays your call the entire way through, not something we decide after the fact.

I personally evaluate every inventory opportunity that comes through. When a direct purchase makes sense, we buy it outright. When placement within our network is the better fit, such as off-price retailers or discount wholesalers, it gets the same discretion, the same brand protections, and the same effort to get you a strong, fair recovery on your inventory.

I built this business on relationships, not one-off transactions. Most of the people we work with come back the next time they have excess inventory, and that only happens if we’ve earned it by protecting their brand and getting them a fair deal every time.

Who We Help

As excess clothing buyers, Overstock Trader works with apparel brands, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, importers, and 3PL providers throughout the apparel industry. Whether you’re managing seasonal inventory, customer returns, canceled purchase orders, or discontinued product lines, we evaluate your inventory individually and determine the best purchasing approach.

We work with:

Retailers

Regional retailers, national chains, department stores, specialty apparel retailers, and ecommerce retailers.

Apparel Brands

Seasonal collections, excess production, discontinued styles, customer returns, and canceled orders.

Manufacturers

Overproduction, canceled purchase orders, packaging changes, excess inventory, and private label production.

Importers & Distributors

Bulk apparel inventory, excess production, canceled orders, and warehouse consolidations.

3PLs & Fulfillment Providers

Abandoned inventory, customer returns, refused shipments, and excess apparel inventory requiring disposition.

If you’re holding onto unsold apparel, Overstock Trader can buy that inventory directly and help you turn it into profit.

Where We Sell Your Clothing Inventory

Brand protection matters to us, so as part of our process, we learn directly from you where your inventory can and cannot go. You stay in control of that the whole way through, whether that means keeping it out of certain retailers, certain regions, or certain channels altogether.

From there, your inventory can move in one of a few places:

Off-price retail floors and discount racks

Promotional or seasonal sell-off programs

Wholesale resellers across the secondary market

Export to international buyers outside your existing markets

This keeps your inventory out of your own sales channels entirely. A retailer down the street never ends up carrying the same stock you’re still trying to sell.

Why Sell Excess Clothing Inventory?

Fashion moves fast, and yesterday’s styles rarely gain value over time. The world’s leading clothing brands know this and don’t hesitate to offload last season’s inventory in bulk. Holding onto excess apparel, whether it’s unsold stock, surplus from a canceled order, or outdated designs, only adds cost and complexity to your business.

Apparel that’s no longer in demand ties up your cash flow, takes up storage space, and loses relevance with every passing week. The longer it sits, the lower your chances of turning it into profit.

Timing has a significant impact on recovery value. Fashion trends, changing consumer demand, seasonal transitions, and warehouse costs can quickly reduce the value of excess clothing inventory. Overstock Trader evaluates every opportunity for a direct purchase first, helping businesses recover working capital before inventory loses additional value. When that’s not the right fit, placement within our network takes over instead, with the same confidentiality.

“We had aged inventory that we needed off the books and out of the warehouse fast. Overstock Trader had it purchased within three days, at the price we were targeting. No back and forth, no drawn-out negotiation, just a quick, straightforward process from start to finish.”

Paul L, Sales Director

“We had aged inventory piling up, including broken SKUs and items we’d struggled to place anywhere else. Overstock Trader took it all in one bulk purchase and cleared it out completely. It’s the kind of deal that’s hard to find when you’re stuck with the inventory nobody else wants to touch.”

Tammy R, Sales

“A lot of our overstock comes from replenishment programs with our off-price retail partners that get shut off without much warning, and with our production lead times overseas, we can’t always slow down orders fast enough to keep up. Overstock Trader has been a reliable outlet when that happens, helping us move the excess quickly instead of letting it sit.”
